Call for Special Sessions

The 11th International Conference on Quality of Multimedia Experience (QoMEX 2019) will be held from June 5-7, 2019 in Berlin, Germany. It will bring together leading experts from academia and industry to present and discuss current and future research on multimedia quality, quality of experience (QoE) and user experience (UX). This way, it will contribute towards an integrated view on QoE and UX, and foster the exchange between these two communities. The conference will include invited talks, oral/poster presentations, panels and special sessions.

Special session proposals are solicited in the conference topics. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • QoE and UX: Concepts and links
  • New assessment and evaluation methods (e.g., for enhancement algorithms)
  • Quality, experience and user state
  • New interactive applications
  • QoE and UX management in a mobile, connected world
  • Quality of Life
  • Multimodal perception & quality
  • Immersive technologies
  • Probing the user
  • QoE, UX and content creation
  • Aesthetics
  • Communities, social media and demographics
  • Model development & validation
  • QoE data analytics
  • Machine learning for QoE and UX research
  • Databases for QoE and UX research

Submission Procedure

Special session proposals should be sent to the Special Session Chairs Tiago Falk (falk@emt.inrs.ca) and Manfred Tscheligi (manfred.tscheligi@ait.ac.at). The proposal should provide the following information: title, motivation and objectives, topics of interest, confirmed papers (title, authors and abstract), contact information for the special session organizers, organizers’ short biography, and a list of potential reviewers capable of reviewing papers submitted to the special session.

Proposals will be evaluated based on topic novelty and associated impact, organizing committee qualifications, as well as the proposed list of contributed papers. Special Session submissions will be reviewed via the same process as submissions to the regular program and papers are expected to meet the same quality standards.

Notification of acceptance of Special Sessions: December 16, 2018
Full paper registration (title, abstract, and author list): January 18, 2019 -> EDAS
