Demo Papers

Demo papers are part of a special event organized during the conference. Participants are given the opportunity to demonstrate their most recent progress or developments, and interact with the conference attendees in an informal way, such as a demo, mock-up, or any adapted format of their own choice. These contributions must highlight the innovative side of the concept, and should be different from normal short papers in that the presentation is significantly improved by the particular demonstration format.

As for regular short papers, each accepted demo paper will be allocated three (3) pages in the conference proceeding, including figures, tables and references. Submitted demo papers of the general and special session tracks will undergo a single-blind review process. Demonstrations will be presented in a dedicated time slot; each presentation space will include one poster board, one table, a screen as well as a power outlet. Demonstrations should be based on innovations and fundamental research in areas of the conference. Submissions will be peer-reviewed in single-blind format, and will also be included in the conference proceedings as fully-citable papers; they will also be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore. Reviewers will judge the originality, significance, quality, and clarity of the proposed demonstration. At least one author of each accepted submission must register for and attend the conference at a non-student rate, and demonstrate the system or mock-up during the demo session.

Please feel free to contact the demo Chair (Thomas, Zinner, zinner@inet.tu-berlin.de) if you have any questions regarding the demo content or setup, or if you have requests beyond the basic equipment provided.

Other Submission Policies

QoMEX 2019 requires each accepted paper to be presented by one of the authors in-person at the conference site according to the schedule published. One of the authors must register for the conference at one of the non-student rates offered and must register before the deadline given for author registration (see registration policy). Any paper accepted into the technical program, but not presented on-site will be withdrawn from the official proceedings archived on IEEE Xplore.

By submitting a manuscript, the authors guarantee that it is not previously published or under review elsewhere in substantially similar form. Furthermore, no paper which contains significant overlap with the contributions of the submission should be submitted during the review period to either a journal or a conference. If there are papers that may appear to violate any of these conditions, then it is the author’s responsibility to (a) cite these papers (preserving anonymity), (b) argue in the body of your paper why your paper is nontrivially different from these concurrent submissions, and (c) include anonymized versions of those papers with the submission.

Authors are allowed to submit manuscripts posted in institutional and public repositories (such as arXiv) to QoMEX 2019 for consideration if the authors hold all rights, including copyrights, for the manuscript. Authors are required to mention “submitted to QoMEX 2019” with any paper posted on public repositories (such as arXiv). When a paper is rejected for publication, the reference to the paper needs to be changed and all references to QoMEX should be removed. In case of an accept, following publication in the QoMEX conference proceedings, the reference should be updated to say “Proceedings of QoMEX”, and the DOI should be added. Moreover, all authors are required to always refer to the paper in the QoMEX proceedings, and not use the reference of the public repository.

Authors need to check in EDAS if the paper is submitted on the right track (database or regular paper) and if the paper is submitted to the right special session (regular paper or special session).
